PORTLAND — A historic moment played out Tuesday night as the Portland Phoenix hosted the Brooklyn Italians in an opening-round match of the U.S. Open Cup, American soccer’s national championship tournament and one of the oldest sports competitions in the country.

Due to the poor weather conditions the Academy Session for 5/15 is canceled. This session will be made up on June 2nd.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Dec. 15, 2011) – US Club Soccer has announced that the New York Club Soccer League (NYCSL) has become the newest addition to the organization’s National Premier Leagues (NPL).

Yussuf Olajde doesn’t play for one of the area’s elite U.S. Soccer academy teams, and he has yet to step on the field for Sheepshead Bay High School, but the 16-year-old prodigy is considered by some experts as New York’s top soccer talent.
