BROOKLYN, NY - The Brooklyn Italians coaches had the pleasure of enjoying a leadership workshop from LIU Brooklyn Head Coach, TJ Kostecky, last Wednesday night. The workshop looked at all aspects of leadership that our coaches could learn and apply to their own tasks on the training fields.
Kostecky and his program have enjoyed tremendous success in recent years, with his charges winning the regular season and post season NEC championships in 2015, which led to an NCAA tournament appearance against Rutgers. His current roster boasts the reigning NEC player of the year, Simen Hestnes, along with 7 all conference selections and 3 all region selections in Rasmus Hansen, Naeem Charles and Hestnes.
As successful as his teams have been on the pitch, Kostecky’s squads are also devoted in the classroom. His 2003 & 2012 teams posted the highest team grade point average in the nation. The 2008 & 2015 squads were awarded the NEC Team Academic Award for posting the highest GPA among men’s soccer teams in the conference.
The Brooklyn Italians would like to thank TJ Kostecky and all at LIU Brooklyn for their continued support of our club.
